Suspect Arrested after 6-hour Standoff
A call came to Norwalk Police about a woman holding her husband hostage with a rifle according to her neighbors. When the police arrived at the scene, they could clearly see the woman with the gun and ordered her to put the weapon down and come outside with her hands in the air. However, the woman had a different plan in mind and barricaded herself in the house while still holding her husband hostage. After six hours of negotiation, the woman finally put the gun down and walked outside with her hands in the air. The police arrested her immediately and searched the house for the weapon. It turns out that the weapon she was using was a somewhat harmless BB gun, but the husband did not know it wasn’t a real gun at the time. The woman justified her behavior by saying it was all to scare her husband because she found out he was cheating on her, but wanted to hear the truth from him. Police are still charging the woman with kidnapping and will most likely spend a lot of time in prison. Everyone involved in this incident left without any harm and the police are thankful for that.
